Give us back our symbol of peace on earth and good will toward men...or die, Jew!

Apparently, Bill O'Reilly sicced his Culture Warrior shock troops on a Seattle Rabbi.
Christmas trees are going back up at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Pat Davis, president of the Port of Seattle commission, which directs airport operations, said late Monday that maintenance staff would restore the 14 plastic holiday trees, festooned with red ribbons and bows, that were removed over the weekend because of a rabbi's complaint that holiday decor did not include a menorah.

[snip]

Port officials received word Monday afternoon that (Seattle Rabbi Elazar)Bogomilsky's organization would not file a lawsuit at this time over the placement of a menorah, Davis said in a statement.

"Given that, the holiday trees will be replaced as quickly as possible," he said.

[snip]

The rabbi has also offered to give the port an electric menorah to display, said his lawyer, Harvey Grad.

"We are not going to be the instrument by which the port holds Christmas hostage," Grad said, emphasizing the rabbi never sought removal of the trees, but addition of the menorah.

The rabbi had received "all kinds of calls and emails," many of them "odious," Grad said, adding he was "trying to figure out how this is consistent with the spirit of Christmas."
Come now...Everyone knows that O'Reilly and his ilk are just pure-of-heart traditionalists trying to help America recall Christmases like they used to be. You know, like in Spain circa 1490.

So Iran is holding a conference denying the holocaust and you are more concerned that O'Reilly is the anti-semite.

You are amazingly obtuse.

Well, he's our very own Muqtada al O'Reilly, who has the ear of millions of Americans (as he has repeatedly pointed out) and has told Jews that they should get over Christian influence or they "gotta go to Israel."

Funny, by the way, that you don't seem to find O'Reilly's incessant yammering about a supposed "War on Christmas" obtuse...

It just seems that in your world a loud mouth on a cable network is a greater outrage than a potentially nuclear armed dictator who denies the holocaust and proposes erasing Israel from the earth.

I mean you are comparing O'Reilly to Torquemada. It just seems to lack perspective.

The comparison, my friend, is what's known as hyperbole.

And, honestly, here's how I feel about guys like O'Reilly and Dennis Prager, et. al.: They are chipping away at the fabric of the greatest country on earth by pushing an anti-constitutional religious revisionist ideal of our nation. We should serve as a bulwark against extremism, not simply fight extremism with a different brand of the same product.

On the other hand, I'm a simple blogger/dirty fucking hippie. I write about what I choose to write about. Those who, like O'Reilly, have millions of viewers, small armies of interns, access to every bit of research and major network time are spending their time talking about these issues and yet you don't seem concerned about them. Nor do you seem all that concerned about the folks over at the Corner chatting about one of the Doobie Brothers performing with James Woolsey or breaking a record by reading Charlotte's Web.

Talk about a problem of perspective...

It is possible for some people to disapprove of one thing without automatically voiding their disapproval of any and all second things.

You, for example, seem to think of Ahmedinajad's nonsense Holocaust conference as a bad thing, no? However, if I were to say, "So, Anonymous! In your world a holocaust denier, that is a vendor of bad, stupid words, is a worse outrage than the genocidal thugs actually murdering victims by the thousands in Darfur!", you would be justified in scratching your head and saying to yourself, "That doesn't follow at all. What an idiot that guy is!"
